Dr. Tarlok Singh Sahota CCA - Director of Research and Business
Tarlok has over 20 years of experience in research and extension worldwide. Originally from a family farm, he has Master’s and Doctorate degrees in agronomy and has worked extensively in nutrient management and integrated pest management. Tarlok is very interested in improving the overall health of the agricultural ecosystems and enhancing crop productivity. He has also participated in the International Course for Development Oriented Research in Agriculture in Wageningen, The Netherlands.

Harjit Dhillon, Technician TBARS, is M.Sc. in Agronomy, has over 5 years experience in agricultural research and food production and processing industry. He had been assisting Dr. Sahota in execution of the research programs at TBARS since August 2006 with a break in the 2009 crop season. Harjit is back with us since November 2009.

About the Station
The Thunder Bay Agricultural Research Station was founded by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) in 1991. The University of Guelph and Kemptville College also managed the station as a part of the research program with OMAFRA. Since 2003, TBARS has been run based on a funding agreement with the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation. Currently, TBARS has a board of directors and members called the Thunder Bay Agricultural Research Association.
